Midterm Grind, Spring Break Prep.

'Grab hold of your pencil girl and hold off from shopping online. You got a quiz to study for.' This is literally what I have been telling myself for the past week and a half. It is midterm season and all my friends have gone M.I.A. because it is time to be grinding in these books. From group projects and papers to online assignments there is no room for play here and trust me honey I have been struggling. Just strugggggllllinnngg!  With spring break in about two weeks I cannot seem to keep my mind focused. I attend university in New Jersey at Rutgers and if you know the east coast you know that Jersey winters are no joke. Oddly this winter has been a bit unpredictable. Just two days ago I was wearing a jean jacket out catching a light breeze and today I had on that darn puffer again covering my ears and hiding my hands. Don't even get me started on this rain but lets be serious it could be worse like snow (hate it) so I will be grateful.
With spring right around the corner I get so excited to take off my puffer jacket, retire my timberland boots and throw on some shorts.  All I can think about is how soon I will be traveling again from partly cloudy and freezing to mostly sunny and warm (probably hot and rainy its Florida). One of the things I love and prepping for flight to my seven day paradise is all that is on my brain. I am packing my bags for Miami. Yes Miami! One of the many places that is on the list of Places I Need To Go and as I study for these exams I some how find time to shop. I have been stumbling upon some pretty dope pieces for some pretty dope prices. Keep scrolling to see what I got...

Kick game will be to strong. I am the kind of lady that loves versatility and sneakers are one of my favorite things. I enjoy being able to jazz up a pretty plain jane outfit with a pair of color popped and stylish kicks so I picked these up. As I spice up my collection in 2016 the Nike Free 4.0 (left) and Nike Classic Cortez Print Prem (right) will do quite alright in making any plain outfit fashion forward.
I cannot wait to pair these babies with the shorts that I online thrifted on Poshmark.com .

Those shorts will go great with any shoe really. I will be in Miami for Spring Break and I know you can guess what that means. Everyone will be on their Grown N' Sexy so I may just turn a day outfit into night with these Steve Madden Platform Sandals also thrifted on Poshmark. This light shade of purple is such a soft and beautiful spring color that I just know will go great.

Poshmark is an easy to use online closet where people from all around create a closet of their own to sell items at home. All you have to do is sign up, post listings, make your prices, and sell. Poshmark takes care of the middle work. Get great gently worn pieces for low prices and balling on a budget is something I know best. I didn't even have to come a dime out of pocket. I purchased these with money I received from selling some items of my own. You wouldn't believe I still have money left over to shop for more. I get excited just thinking about it.
Prepping for my trip is my outlet from all this degree grinding focus so enough of this daydream its back to the books. This quiz is not going to ace itself.
Wish me luck,
Keys

#KCTurns30 - Surviving Winter White.

I thought no white after Labor Day was a thing? No? I am so wrong on many things (I guess). I always wondered when it was okay to bring out the white pieces again and my uncle KC helped me figure that out real quick. We celebrated his milestone of 30 years on earth last night at Fire N' Ice Lounge in Fords, New Jersey. I am going to be honest I was dreading preparing for this day. Not because I wasn't excited for his birthday but because the theme was Winter White. White pieces aren't really my thing for the sake of keeping clean throughout the night. It just seems like every little thing that could get on my clothes will get on my clothes just because. I was dying for a night out where I could get dolled up and look great. I had never chosen an all white outfit before so I could cross that off my Bucket List. Who knew how difficult it would be to find white pieces in the winter, especially last minute. I stuck it out and found a good match up.
Pants, top, earrings-Forever 21  , Watch-Fossil, Bracelet (charm-passion)-Alex and ani and Nude Pumps-Call It Spring
I'd say I am pretty pleased with how my appearance turned out after a night full of hugging, drink sipping (my drink choice was oxford fizz), finger food eating, and of course a WHOLE LOT  of dancing. This evening was a night to remember!
Happy 30th Uncle KC! #KCTurns30 more like #TURNT30

Opening the Front Door - facing a fear.

I feel like I am next to show my space on an episode of MTV Cribs. Nows the time where I invite you all in for a tour of my domain. We take a walk through the halls where I post on the wall glamour shots, portraits displaying the beauty in life and plaques showing off success. You get to see "Where the magic happens" (or whatever) , the closet fit for a queen, peek in the fridge (mysteriously full of food), see the theater, and even my car collection.
Lets be serious. I don't have all of that yet. I'm not quite there. Trust me we are going to get deep here but its going to take some time. I am glad you found your way here. It took me a while but I finally got the guts to start this thing (better late than never). Would you think I was crazy if I told you attention was a fear of mine? I don't know its just something about knowing that everyone's eyes are on me at once that makes me sweat. But in this life I too have to face fears. So here goes nothing....

We should touch base first.
I am Keyajah [Kee - A - Juh], its easier than it looks. Just say it the way its spelled. People say my name wrong all the time and I hate it. Feel free to call me Keys (nickname I got in highschool). One of my top goals in life is to be fearless. I am here to share what inspires me; I plan to utilize this platform to contribute to the world the my take on lifestyle, beauty, and bare the rawness of my experiences. Lets embark on this journey together.
